Compact with icons

Anyone who wants signposting without colour.

The Compact with icons resume template, compiled to a one-page PDF: A small icon marks each section
A real compile of this template — not a mock-up.

The only template in the library that signposts its sections graphically: a small outline icon sits before each heading — a mortarboard at Education, figures at Experience, a gear at Skills. Nothing is coloured and nothing is boxed, so the page still reads as a document rather than an infographic, but a reader skimming for the experience section finds it without reading a word.

Headings are letter-spaced small caps in a humanist sans, and dates are pushed to a wide right-hand column where they line up down the page — useful if your history is a series of short, dated engagements. Below the main sections it carries Honors and Awards and a Miscellaneous block, which is a natural home for languages spoken, a blog, or anything that does not belong under a job title.

It compiles with xelatex rather than pdflatex, which is what lets it set non-Latin characters properly — if your name, a university or a publication needs characters outside the Latin alphabet, this is the template that will not mangle them. The icons are decorative: a parser reads the heading word and skips the glyph.
